Music of The Heart – Katie Ashley

Hey Guys! Here’s my last reeding!

Hope you join this! 😉

Synopsis: For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple—join her brothers’ band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she’s finally ready for the limelight by becoming its fourth member. Of course, she never imagined stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupie’s, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn’t in his bed on purpose.

Jake Slater never imagined the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when after betting Abby she wouldn’t last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake’s personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He’s never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, or most importantly make music with.

As the week starts comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart Country songstress and a bad boy of Rock N Roll actually have a future together?

Review: The first book of the Runway Train serie, brings us the story of Abby Renard . She goes to a rock festival to meet her brothers, but somehow she falls like an angel from heaven on the Runway Train’s bus, specifically in the bed of the famous Jake Slater. Differently than all the girls would, Abby got’s extremely angry with Jake’s harassment and does everything to get way as fast as possible of that bus.

But when Jake accuses her of being just a spoiled girl,Abby decides she has to prove hes worth and, as missionary ‘s daughter, she believes that she can handle anything. What she doesn’t realize is that hers main challenge isn’t to live in a bus with four bad manners men, but dealing with her confused feelings about the problematic Jake Slater .

Will Abby’s good heart be able to save Jake of the hellish situation that he’s living and help him get through it ? Or they just will see that the differences between them are too big?

My print:

To be honest, I had some initial difficulty with the book because I thought the story a little bit unrealistic in principle. (How someone accepts live in a bus with total strangers because of a bet?) But after I accepted that’s the fantasy that makes us dream with books, I got really involved with the plot.

I thought interesting to bring some musical aspects that gave a unique touch to the novel, ’cause I know that this is indeed the mode of expression of many people and I could feel the emotion of it.

Also the secondary characters are endearing, although they aren’t too many .
And I need to say that I think I wouldn’t have the patience of Abby with Jake ‘s mistakes , but it’s really beautiful how she’s comprehensive of him, and the way they engage in a delicate moment for his life.

And despite the defects, Jake makes some love declarations which are well deserved to appear in a movie! It made me sigh several times! ❤

I think anyone who likes music will love it!

I barely know how to be

with someone when I’m whole.

How the hell am I supposed to be

with you when I’m so fucking broken?

Note: ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
