Bloodlines – Richelle Mead

Bloodlines_NovelSynopsis:

Sydney is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets – and human lives. When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she’s still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir – the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir – is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill’s guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty – a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning…

Review:

This book is a spin of Vampire Academics, borrowing some characters but having a huge different story.

This series is based on the alchemist Sydney, which had a big importance in the VA’s end, and the most beautiful character in the world, Adrian ( ❤ ❤ ❤ ).

Because the VA’s events, Sidney has a very bad impression with the Alchemists group. There’s a very important mission to do and because of the previously Sidney’s events, her sister is recruited in her place, even when she hasn’t the necessary knowledge. Sidney, trying to save her sister, intervenes and asks to go her sister’s place. In that way is when Sidney starts her new adventure.

The Sidney’s mission is protecting a vampire by getting they out of trouble. The problem is that Sidney repulses the vampires, so she has to live together with them. Besides that, she has to work with another alchemist that she hates, the motive is explain during the reading.

My print:

I am Adrian’s lover, so I’m suspect to write about. I loved VA but Bloodlines overcome everything. The first thing that I thought was “What author is that?”. She gave a whole serie for one of the love triangle in the VA (who author does that? – what a care with the readers!).

I was so so exciting of Adrian’s story! And then, I was not disappointed.

The focus of this serie isn’t the romance, it’s Sidney’s adventures, (by the way, extremely exciting adventures).

The romance between Adrian and Sidney grows slowly during the serie, which makes it more real.

This book also starts some situations that will be more explore in the other books. And, as Mead’s write, the story’s emotion grows slowly during the reading and getting too much high in the middle to the end.

As every Mead’s story, this one full of emotions and revelations.

You won’t regret the reading!

“My God, Sage. Your eyes. How have I never noticed them?”

That uncomfortable feeling was spreading over me again. “What about them?”

“The color,” he breathed. “When you stand in the light. They’re amazing… like molten gold. I could paint those…” He reached toward me but then pulled back. “They’re beautiful. You’re beautiful.”

Note: ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
