My Stepbrother The Dom – Arabella Quin

Hey you guys! Here’s the complete review of this different romance – ok, not so different… Hope you like it!

Synopsis:

For years, I had the worst crush on my stepbrother, Cole Hunter. We used to ride bikes, skateboard and go fishing together – now I couldn’t even be in the same room as him without my pulse racing. One cocky half-grin from Cole would have my face blushing while my panties melted. It was insane – and completely humiliating.

It was a painful secret that I guarded fiercely. Cole was off-limits. Forbidden. If he knew how I felt, I would die of embarrassment.

I avoided Cole for years, until one wild night, when my best friend took me to a club. I thought I was going to see a grunge band, but it turned out to be a much kinkier kind of club. A club where anything goes, and well, things got a little crazy. Make that a lot crazy.

Review:

As the title suggests, this novel tells the story of the stepbrothers Ava and Cole. They grew up together, but in adolescence they moved away, partly by circumstances of life and in part by improper mutual attraction.

So Ava follows her own life without ever getting fall in love with someone else. But this story takes a different turn when Ava goes to a sex club with her best friend, and even virgin, there she gets terrified and delighted with the Dom Master Royce, without suspecting that he is her own stepbrother.

When things get more intense and deep between them, they suddenly split. Now they will have to deal with this confusing situation when they find out that in fact they are falling in love for each other.

My print:

This book changed my opnion several times. At first I had a hard time believing this story, the beginning is a little forced. I just couldn’t accept the fact of them don’t recognize each other because, as much as they used masks and different names, they still had the voice! And how someone doesn’t recognize the voice of her own brother? I almost gave up reading. But I decided to carry on and then it really improved compared to the beginning.

The novel revolves exclusively around the erotic relationship between Ava and Cole.
From the middle to the end, the story delves a bit more on the characters and the difficulties they face because of their relationship, but sex is certainly the main focus and the hot scenes are well described.

I’d thought that the novel was about BDSM, but in fact Cole isn’t a Dom and I thought cool this recognition of his identity.
Also it almost don’t have any secondary character, outside their parents, and her best friend who appears at the beginning of history, but she’s never mentioned again, which was weird.

I also found that some parts of the story weren’t well explained and seemed meaningless to me.
I thought really cool the well placed references to 50 Shades of Gray.

And Cole is really cute and hot! ❤

Worth reading for those who enjoy erotic books and stepbrother’s romances, but not recommend it to everyone.

Shh. It’s almost time to stop talking,

because I want to show you exactly how I feel about you.”

“Almost time?”

Cole smiled. “Almost. Because first I want to tell you… I love you, Ava.”
