My favorite authors

I will show u my pick list of favorite authors (until now – it’s always changing).

Besides I have read lots of books, I don’t have a big list of fav authors. I’m very picky and only consider the author my fav after some really great books wrote by them.

My favs also participated in some fases of my life and let a good impression and beautiful memories.

This is my (decrescent) Top 5!

5º – Meg Cabot

Specially for The Princess Diaries, that marked my teenagers. In the middle of my fifteens, I got involved with Mia’s conturbing life and I felt identified by her. It was my first book serie and I can also remember the comments between my friends and I about these books. Because of this serie I have Cabot in my fav list.

4º- Stephanie Meyer

What can I say about Meyer?! Her books filled all my youth and I really felt in love with Edward. I read the Twilight serie over and over again, my books are very worn out and every time I see them, I remember a very good time of my life. Also I can say by The Host.

3º- Sidney Sheldon

He was my first fav. Until now I become surprise with such criativity. All his books is full of surprises and turnarounds. Each book is filled with new concepts and all the ends were epics. I love this author and I can’t describe the importance of his books in my life. Every time I have a desire to read a really good book I felt back on Sheldon, this author is awesome!

2º- Jamie Mcguire

I liked (very much) Beautiful Disaster, I think it was a mark in the literature, introducing us the new adult genre. However, Mcguire entered in my fav list with Maddox Brothers serie. I feel very very surprise when I finish Beautiful Oblivion. She achieved do a whole different story with the same theme and the most impressive is that she linked the stories – this was AMAZING!! The story happens the same time that beautiful disaster and she got doesn’t spoil the story. And all the ends of her books are amazing!!! She is diva!

1º- Richelle Mead

Mead, my most recent fav. She is epic! I read vampire academy and bloodlines. All books that I read was full of emotions and revelations, with a impeccable writing. There is no book that I read that I don’t like. Besides all that, I admire the care she has with the readers (it’s a care that most of popular authors don’t have). She shows that by writing bloodlines and give us a new story with the “rejected” guy in the vampire academy triangle. I don’t know ( probably has, but it’s not in my knowledge) an author that have so much care with a triangle ( and so with the wronger shippers). Please Meyer and Collins, learn with Mead.

And who is your favorite authors? Tell us in comments.

Beautiful Oblivion – Jamie McGuire

Synopsis: Fiercely independent Camille “Cami” Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn’t have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with a first weekend off in almost a year.

Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.

Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlor to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.

As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she’ll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever—even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart.

First of all I need to fix the book’s synopsis book:
Cami has three younger brothers and a cousin indeed. That doesn’t make any difference in history, but still I can’t understand how they cound let pass an error like this.

OK. Now, the review:

Cami is an independent girl. She works and lives alone since she found herself in condition to leave her tumultuous parents house. All she wanted was a quiet life, preferably next to her wonderful boyfriend T.J. But things get difficult when he moves to California because of his work and she sees herself in a weird relationship, since they hardly see and talk to each other.

And in one of the weekends that T.J. cancels the meeting with her, Trenton Maddox decides to approach her.
Cami knows Trenton since school and she is sure about one thing: Maddox brothers are trouble.

After making it clear that she has a boyfriend and she just wants his friendship, they begin to spend much time together.
The problem is that there’s a tragic secret about Trenton’s past, and now Cami is hiding something that can change everything between then.

Now we’ll do something different.

Both of us read this book, and both of us will share our impressions! Yaay!

Nina’s Opinion:

This is the #1 Maddox Brother’s book, spin -off series to Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster .

I’m suspect to write about it because I just love Jamie’s writing and she didn’t disappoint me. The rhythm is less intense than the Beautiful Disaster, but equally addictive.

No matter how incredible it may seem, even if dealing with Maddox brothers, the story is completely different. Trent’s personality is quite distinct from Travis ( ❤ ), but it’s still possible to see some fascinating similarities. Cami also has a strong and outstanding personality, even though I didn’t feel much identification with her.

The development of their relationship is delicious and very realistic, in one way that you can feel all the conflicting emotions. It’s absolutely impossible not fall in love with Trent’s cute and loose behavior. And how cute is he taking care of Olive?

The plot is staged at the same place  and time as Beautiful Disaster and we can have some delicious glimpses of Abby and Travis, and it’s reveal things that hadn’t been well explained at the firsts books. And the author does it masterfully.

And I need to say: What end was that???? I spent more then 20 minutos to recover myself! Just breathtaking!

I’m already looking forward to reading the nexts!

Note: ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤  and a half ❤

Silvana’s Opinion:

I was cautions to read this book. I really loved Beautiful and Walking Disaster and I was afraid that Jamie Mcguire was writing this book just for marketing, and getting a link with BD and WD just for sell one more book. Then, I was totally surprised, the book was fantastic! With an original story, strong characters and real great writing, McGuire just catch me. The things that more impressed me was the links between this story and Travis’ one, it was awesome! I kept thinking how could she do that!

I was giving a four star for the book when, unexpectedly, in last words for the last page, the story revelation hit my face. I was not less than chocked. I had to to come back some pages to assimilate the reality of that last words.

I have to tell: It worths the reading, it worths every page. With this book Jamie Mcguire joined (with glorious) my author fav list. Mcguire is diva. I cannot wait to read the next one. Come to me, Beautiful Redemption!

“I was just thinking now was as good a time as any

to acknowledge that you’re perfect

and it wouldn’t suck if you fell madly in love with me anytime soon.”

Beautiful Disaster

Beautiful Disaster – The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate percentage of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance between her and the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend America, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Abby Abernathy and her best friend America move to a distant city to go to college so they could get away from the troubled Abby past. It’s the principle of new life that Abby wants. Then she meets Travis Maddox, the badboy who breaks all the girls heart. He’s just concerned with the total rejection from Abby for him, since definitely it isn’t common for him. Travis makes money in the fight clubs, and to make matters worse, he’s cousin  of the new America’s boyfriend, which means that they are forced to spend more time together than she’d like. In the meantime, they make a bet – if she loses, she’ll have to spend a month living in his apartment. Amid the charming way of Travis and his opposite way to a Prince Charming, Abby reproves everything on him and she fight against all ber feelings predicting a disaster and the return of the shadows of her past. Therefore they’ll need to greatly strive to achieve live with one another and keep this unusual friendship.

My print:

First of all to say that this is one of our favorite books. I just love Jamie McGuire!
She has a wonderful writing and can pass all the necessary emotions to understand the characters. I must also say that this case doesn’t have much to do with the story (what’s the butterfly thing?).

The book has 418 pages and has a great format, then you can enjoy it a lot. I did not want it to end ever! (On page 100 I was so happy because it’d still have a lot to read).
It’s definitely a book that held me. When I was almost discouraged thinking that the plots would be resolved, came another unexpected and surprising. The story – in relative terms – is very realistic, bringing well-constructed characters, including the secondary characters. Also portrays a realistic relationship, with all its problems and misunderstandings. And Abby was a relief endless view a protagonist without attitude, moving away from the characters with low esteem, passionate and condescending of the last books I’ve read.

I think I could talk about it for hours, but I’ll stop now if any of you guys are interested in reading it.

Who else loves Travis Maddox??? ❤ ❤

This was the boy I love.

A little bit messy. A little bit ruined.

A beautiful disaster. Just like me.
